Portal Terms of Use and Privacy Notice
Evil Industry LLC · Version 1.0
PORTAL TERMS OF USE AND PRIVACY NOTICE (v1.0)
1. WHO WE ARE. The Evil Industry portal is run by Evil Industry LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company ("Evil Industry", "EI", "we"). These terms cover every portal account. You accept them by checking the box at account creation. You must be at least 18 years old.
2. WHAT AN ACCOUNT IS, AND IS NOT. An account on its own gives you the community, demos, the sync briefs board and resources. It does not make EI your publisher or administrator. Until you accept the Songwriter Administration Agreement, EI does not register, collect, claim or license anything on your behalf, no fees apply, no Schedule A exists, and EI has no rights in any of your songs. You can accept the Administration Agreement at any time from your account; it applies from the date you accept it.
3. YOUR ACCOUNT. Keep your password private and your details accurate. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your login. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
4. COMMUNITY CONTENT. Demos, posts and messages you share in the portal community stay your property. You let EI display them in the portal to other members. Only share what you own or have permission to share. EI may remove content that is unlawful, infringing or abusive, and may suspend or close accounts that post it. Sharing a song in the community does not register it anywhere.
5. ACCEPTABLE USE. Do not scrape, probe, overload or attack the portal, impersonate anyone, harvest other members' details, or upload malware. Do not use the portal to infringe anyone's rights.
6. PRIVACY NOTICE. EI collects your name, email, password (stored hashed), and anything you choose to add such as phone, location, streaming links, photos and bio. For administered accounts EI also collects PRO and IPI details, payment details and tax forms, as described in the Administration Agreement. EI logs the IP address and device information when you accept terms, so it can prove what you agreed to. EI uses this information to run your account, to deliver the features you use, to meet legal and tax obligations, and to contact you about your account. It is shared only with EI staff and with the service providers that run the portal and, for administered accounts, the societies, sub-publishers and payment processors that need it. Other members never see your income or personal details. EI does not sell personal data. Account, payout and tax emails cannot be turned off; other emails can be managed in Settings. You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to close your account and delete what we are not required to keep, by emailing the address on the portal.
7. TERMINATION. You may close your account at any time. EI may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, on notice by email. If you have accepted the Administration Agreement, its withdrawal rules apply to your Works.
8. NO WARRANTY; LIMITS. The portal is provided as is. EI is not liable for outages, data loss caused by third-party services, or for what other members post. EI's total liability under these terms is limited to $100 or the amount you paid EI in the previous 12 months, whichever is greater.
9. CHANGES. EI may update these terms and will notify you by email or at next login. Continued use after the notice date is acceptance of the updated terms.
10. LAW. North Carolina law governs these terms. Disputes go to the state courts of Onslow County, North Carolina.Fingerprint (SHA-256): d7d9834abcdcc87b3d1b7c55cfaf3c57bf215ab7ff0fb53c25028f5cb7979885
